Are you confused when a breakdown asks for a 'Northern' or a 'mild London' accent? What part of the north -it's a big place! And should the London be less old school 'Eastenders' or more modern 'Industry'?
TV casting particularly (although it can apply to film and theatre) can make fairly vague north/south UK accent requests. This workshop will help unravel where you should pitch the accent. For example, sometimes, it's more about social class than an actual place.
We'll identify and practically explore some of the variables to get you confident and relaxed with the accent so you can concentrate on the acting! I've seen quite a few actors recently who have had to go both 'northern' for one role, then 'southern' for another. The session will be best for anyone who has been exposed to accents on this tiny grey island and has English as a first language. So come along, bring your ears and have a willingness to have a bit of a play.
