In this workshop we will
- Identify and practise the key features of an American accent
- Explore strategies for finding flow and ease in the accent so it works in sync with acting choices rather than against them
- Receive individual feedback on a short piece of text

A way to make notes
A short (no more than a minute) piece of text that you’d like to explore in the accent, this can be from film/TV/theatre
Please ensure you have a decent Wifi connection and have a relatively noise free environment to work in.
Andrea Hazel Lewis is a Voice & Dialect Coach for stage and screen. Recent credits include coaching on the new Wallace and Gromit project and Screw Channel 4 series, Voice Coach for Matilda The Musical at The Cambridge Theatre and coaching on Wuthering Heights at The National Theatre; alongside her professional work, Andrea is also Senior Voice Tutor at Mountview Academy.
With a wide range of training and skills including: a Masters in Voice Studies from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama; advanced and regularly updated professional training; over ten years of teaching in prestigious Drama Schools and Universities, coaching in West End theatre, TV and film; Andrea has the skills and experience to support performers and adapt to their unique requirements
