Further to the success of his previous Shoshin workshops in 2022, this empowering day-long course offers you new tools and techniques with which to approach and engage with the written word in dynamic, clear, and immediate ways.
It will also help you -
Engage physically, emotionally, and successfully with classical or contemporary text.
Release and demystify any academic or habitual approach to scripted plays and the written word that may be holding you back
Improve and enjoy ‘cold reading’ unknown text through simple and effective techniques.
The course will also introduce you to simple and specific preparations that will easily and successfully help you unlock scripted scenes and monologues - releasing the power of words from page to stage or screen.
Shoshin Script will help you discover/re-discover the the joy and power of the written word. It will help you act with greater confidence, simplicity, authenticity, and ease.
Shoshin is a Japanese word meaning Beginner’s Mind. In the the beginner’s mind there are many possibilities. In the expert’s mind there are few.
